Some trophies are earned on a field. Champion Cup was awarded for winning everything, according to its card, including arguments nobody else knew were happening. It is shiny, metallic and quietly convinced it has never lost. If you said something in the chat last week and someone replied 'well, actually', the Cup was probably involved.
'Second place is just the first loser. Kidding... mostly.' That 'mostly' tells you everything. Its type is Glory and its special ability is Victory Lap: it runs around the room shouting GG. Loud, a little smug, but generous too, because GG is still a compliment for everyone who played. The Cup just likes to say it first.
It is fitting that Champion Cup closes the series as number 12. After Hello Chat, Big Heart, Guardian and The Crown, the trophy is the last spot to fill, the sticker that turns an almost-complete page into a finished one. Whoever fills that slot is allowed to celebrate exactly like the Cup would.
