Meet Golden Vinyl
Golden Vinyl has a secret: it was a platinum hit. It went gold out of modesty. That tells you most of what you need to know about this record. It is proud of its past but not loud about it, and it only spins the classics, the songs everyone in the room already knows by heart. New releases can wait.
"They don't make them like me anymore," it says, and it might be right. The type is Gold and the ability is Greatest Hits, which replays the best moment of the night. Not the loudest, not the latest: the best. Golden Vinyl is the member who remembers the funniest line of the evening and brings it back when the room needs it.
How to get Golden Vinyl
Golden Vinyl comes from the chat, the site and packs. When it drops in the Sociale chat, write !catch and type the private code from MewBots within 5 minutes, or press Catch it on mysociale.net/album. Packs bring 3 stickers each; open them within 10 minutes of getting them, or they disappear.
Stats, rarity and swaps
Golden Vinyl is the most balanced of the three rares: 65 HP, 60 attack, 60 defence and 55 speed, a gap of only 10 points between its best and worst stat. Big Speaker and Party Popper both swing by 35. One hits hard but is slow, the other is fast but fragile; Golden Vinyl stays steady. As a rare it is worth 250 xats and drops in 25% of cases, so a duplicate is a fair trade for another rare.
Questions about Golden Vinyl
Is Golden Vinyl a metallic sticker?
No. Despite the name and the Gold type, Golden Vinyl has a normal finish. In Night Room the metallic finish belongs to the two epics, Mixtape and Happy Hour, while Disco Ball is diamond. Golden Vinyl is a rare worth 250 xats, and its gold is in the picture, not in the finish.
Why do collectors call Golden Vinyl balanced?
Because none of its stats stands out or falls behind: 65 HP, 60 attack, 60 defence and 55 speed. Among the three rares, no other card has such a small gap between its highest and lowest number; only the epic Mixtape is more even, at 5 points. The stats describe a calm classic that never overdoes it.
What does Greatest Hits do?
Greatest Hits is Golden Vinyl's special ability: it replays the best moment of the night. Like every Mew Pop ability, it is printed on the card and describes the character, a record that only spins the classics. It has no effect in the chat or in any game; it is part of what makes the sticker fun to collect.
