How to play hangman online with friends
- 1Open the wordTap Play hangman. You see the category (animals, jobs, sports...) and how many letters the word has. To play on the site you log in with your free Sociale account.
- 2Guess a letterTap a letter: you can play one every 6 seconds. Every wrong letter is one mistake for everyone.
- 3Or play from the chatIn the Sociale room on xat type !hangman to see the word, !letter a to play a letter and !word followed by the word to try it.
- 4Try the whole wordThink you know it? Type the full word. A wrong word does not count as a mistake, but you wait 30 seconds before the next try.
- 5Win or start againWhoever reveals the last letter or guesses the word wins. At the seventh mistake the word is lost, and a new one starts after 8 seconds.

Hangman tips and strategy
Start with vowels
E, A and O show up in most English words. One good vowel often reveals the shape of the word.
Then common consonants
R, S, T, N and L are safe next picks. Save rare letters like Q, X and Z for the end.
Use the category
Five letters in "animals"? Think of real animals before guessing letters at random.
Go for the word
A wrong word costs no mistake, only 30 seconds of waiting. If you are fairly sure, type it and win.
